About MAK Renewables
A development-stage venture designing practical hybrid renewable infrastructure for real-world applications.
Our mission
To develop practical, modular hybrid renewable energy systems that help power infrastructure where traditional grid access is difficult, expensive or impractical — combining wind, solar, storage and intelligent monitoring in adaptable configurations.
Real infrastructure needs practical energy solutions
Millions of infrastructure assets — road signs, monitoring stations, telecom masts, farm equipment, remote sensors — sit beyond convenient grid access. Connecting them requires civil works, permissions and ongoing costs.
Single-source renewable systems can struggle with consistency. Solar panels produce nothing at night. Wind turbines depend on wind conditions. Neither alone can guarantee reliable coverage.
A hybrid approach — combining wind and solar with battery storage and intelligent management — is designed to offer broader generation coverage and greater resilience for suitable low-power applications.
Distributed infrastructure
Many assets are far from the grid and need local energy solutions.
Hybrid resilience
Combining sources is designed to reduce dependence on any single resource.
Operational visibility
Remote monitoring is designed to reduce the need for routine site visits.

Smit Makvana
Founder & Engineering Direction
MAK Renewables was founded by an engineer and business professional with a background in mechanical engineering and international business and project management.
This combination of technical training and commercial experience informs the company's approach — designing systems that are not only technically sound but also practically deployable and commercially relevant.
The founder is directly involved in product development, engineering direction, stakeholder engagement and business strategy.
Engineering approach
Our development process is designed around evidence, testing and structured validation.
Evidence-based design
Design decisions informed by engineering analysis, not assumptions.
Structured validation
Stage-gate process from concept through to commercial readiness.
Practical engineering
Focus on manufacturability, installability and maintainability.
Safety and compliance
Commitment to applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Iterative development
Continuous refinement based on testing outcomes and real-world feedback.
Scalable architecture
Modular platform designed to support multiple products from shared components.
Looking forward
MAK Renewables is at an early and exciting stage. Our focus is on completing the engineering validation of our initial product concepts and building the partnerships, supply chain and commercial framework to support future deployment — subject to successful technical outcomes.
